In my experience I would put one upstairs and down stairs with back ground noise sometimes she doesn't hear. They will both link up to the smart lights and you be less annoyed in the long run.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You may depending on the distance. I have activated my Dot by calling across the room. The voice recognition is pretty good. You may also be able to use an app as well depending on the device you want to control.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can get away with one but you may have to speak very loud if there is a lot of background noise. Mine is in my family room at the back of the house but I ask it to turn on the lights when I get home as I enter and it works fine. Only once when the TV was on did it not hear me but I spoke louder and it worked. I started with one but have three now based on how I use it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would have one in every room if I needed to. I have my Echo in my livingroom/kitchen and my dot in my bedroom. Besides all the other things she does, I use her for my alarm clock or to play relaxing sounds when I can't sleep.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have one in the living room and one in the bedroom. It is nice to be able to speak softly to each one. I know the one in the living room can be heard from the kitchen, but it can't be heard from the bedroom. It is great to move about and just call out and get the response you want.
