Nope. Just need 120VAC to plug it in and WiFi internet. You do need to have an Amazon Account, but it doesn't need to be Prime.

Not for it to be fun and useful. There ARE outside services that it can manage for you.

It'll need to connect to a Wifi network so you'll need internet service. If you already have Wifi internet at home then you'll be set.

The Amazon Dot only needs Internet access to work. Other services and connected home devices are optional.
