A:Answer I think its speaker is only so you can hear the content it provides. It is a smart home device, not a speaker. But, when you use the Dot, if you want better sound quality from it, you can attach external speakers (not sure if this feature only starts on 3rd generation devices or if 2nd gen have it too).
