• The Echo devices are set up using an Amazon Echo app. If another device can install the Amazon app, a Smart phone is not needed.

• WiFi works just fine. You do need a phone or laptop or the like to download the Alexa app to set up.

• The only time you will need a smart phone or tablet is to set up the device. Once it is set up, there is no need for one. The Dot will be connected to your wifi and you can enjoy all the features.
