Hi Jerry, Yes, if your smart TV says that it "works with Alexa" or has the Alexa app that you can download in its main menu so that you can link it to your Echo Dot, then yes, it would. Not all smart TV's have that capability. You would want to check with the TV Manufacturer.

I think so..I just bought it for listening music ..What I suggest is buy it try it if it doesnt work ..Return it..
