• Yes I used the black cord. I have no idea why they shipped it with a white one

• Hello, Reallylovespink! As long as the two power cables have the same amount of power it supplies to the device, you will be fine. Each power supply should state on it how much power it provides, so you can double check that way to make sure it will work. Have a great day!
