“Can I install the Action Tiles app to show in part of the presented view? I have a few old Fire 7 tablets I am using for that purpose now, but it would be nice to leverage this smart display as a home command center. Thank you.”

You can’t side load. But you can use the built in web browser. Just create a routine to detect person and have that routine automatically launch the silk browser with the action tiles website.

They run on a different operating system that is specifically designed for them. The Amazon Echo Show gives you the ability to control your smart home via voice controls.
