I don't believe this device will work for what you are trying to use it for (record video content and watch at a later time). If the pool tournaments are available through cable/satellite, I would getting a DVR to record and/or sling box to stream video content to a laptop, smartphone or table. If the pool tournaments are only available streaming through internet on a laptop or PC, I would suggest purchasing a PC video recording software like Bandicam.

Please try again later.no the stick will not alone I'm sure you could find an app that would do that also i know if you can instal the media program kodi on to your stick it has almost any option you could want in a media streaming soft ware (it can be installed just need to find out how to install it or find someone that knows how) if you do get the kodi program i would recommend the Fire tv "box" as it has twice the RAM and is twice as fast also it has a usb port for wireless remotes/keyboards as this remote is quite useless another plus is the micro sd card slot on the "box" up to 32g expandable storage.
