My family of four and I switched to antenna tv over a year ago and have not looked back. With firetv recast and fire stick we have antenna tv, with dvr and a channel guide. Recently discovered pluto tv which is a free tv app that gives you some extras beyond antenna tv that are cable like if not even released cable shows, and all legal too. So I would recommend trying at least fire stick and pluto tv. It is very low cost even if you didn't end up liking it. And if you don't end up watching cable any more and don't miss it, then you have your answer. But once you switch you should probably get the recast box with dvr so that you have antenna tv as well and the dvr ability. One other thing to evaluate is if your family can adjust to the difference in the way you select and navigate through the different sources of entertainment. Mine picked it up pretty fast, but it is different than regular TV that we are all used too.
