Not sure I entirely understand the question, but the stick is essentially a connection device that links your WiFi to your TV and uses various built in apps to stream services your TV. There's no fee paid to Amazon once you buy the device. You could for example start watching You Tube right away. For fee based streaming services you'd select the associated app on screen once you've enrolled and then log in on the TV to access your content.
