• Remote itself works as Alexa to open apps. Regardless Alexa device (like echo dot) is not required to use Fire Tv stick. You just need a TV and wireless internet connection, and of course an amazon account to activate the device.

• As long as you have a TV with an HDMI input and an internet connection, you have everything that you need.

• You do not need Alexa. But you can talk to the fire stick like you’d talk to Alexa to find your program without having to click through menus
