If you wanted to run all 5 tvs at any given time, all with access to the Fire TV Stick programs, you would need to buy 5 sticks. If you just want the OPTION of having it on all 5 tvs but they don't all have to play at the same time, you can just take out the stick from one tv and plug it in to another tv. Once you buy the stick, that's a one-time cost. If you want to be able to view subscription shows, I have seen articles that say you would have to have separate subscriptions for each tv, but I don't know that for certain. I have not tried this yet as i have just bought my 2nd stick for a 2nd tv in another part of the house. If you have Amazon Prime, you can use that on all tvs at one time, just having to put in the password for each, as I understand it.

Start there and see if you need an upgrade. I would think you would be able to purchase these (I got mine at Best Buy) at the 4K level less than $50.00 each. Some come in packs at a lesser cost per unit. In retrospect i wish I would have purchased at least a 2 pack but they are mobile. It would work perfectly to use two of these and replace the mini gent cost each month in the office and one bedroom. If you have Prime the base cost is already built in. After that just explore the cost of the options you want to install. I would suggest you double check any of these devices you are considering to be sure they support the apps you want. Since I purchased mine in addition to DTV not a replacement but to watch some of their proprietary programming to replace so much of the junk on network TV today that was not a consideration. However, I did discover with a problem with my DVR there is more expansive content than I would use. However everyone needs are individual. I hope this helps but really beyond the base it is all predicated on what the individual considers "loaded". There are thousands of apps available and most cost less than $10.00 a month. It just depends on how many you subscribe to. With the base only the fire stick has a lot of free content but it would not replace DTV without additional apps. and I doubt if any competitor would either. The bottom line cost is up to your expectations.
