Possibly but if not there are multiple apps on your smart phone that control basically every app on the market and they are mostly free so do not pay for them

I haven't tried the Echo but the remote itself is RF and very responsive.

The remote is RF. I have heard that it can be controlled with Echo, but I do not have Echo and have not tried that interface.

Not sure the exact type of connection the remote has, but can definitely say its not IR, as there is no line-of-site needed. I believe it is actually Bluetooth, as I don't feel the voice controls would work over RF either. Probably not work with an echo as there is no programming options for it.
