I spend many nights on the road staying in different hotels. The remote, device and power adapter are slim and light to pack and carry. It has worked on wifi in various hotels even though it is behind TVs. It is fast switching screens and displaying selections. The remote can switch to mouse mode, which is required to hover over the required fields in some hotels to sign into wifi. I've had a few times when I have a good picture streaming but, no sound. It occurs after it has worked the night before and then come back to hotel after work and have no sound. I reset unit and restart the show or movie and sound works fine again. I wonder if some users would return unit for this issue? Overall, happy with purchase. I do have a complaint about this Best Buy site for leaving reviews. I started it on the iphone, then realize the review requires a picture. I switched to take the picture and when return to the review page, I had lost the review I had entered. So, had to re- enter this review again. I would assume this is limiting many mobile reviews. Suggest this gets fixed.

This device is absolutely amazing. Very easy to hook up if you speak, read and comprehend simple English. You have access I believe to over 200,000 movies, games and apps. In my opinion there is no comparison when it comes to cable. You don't need a licensed technician to install it and it only costs around $8.00 per month that you pay annually but it is still cheaper. I love this thing!! (You have to buy the controller itself a one time payment of $39.99 plus tax and there is another model that looks almost the same only $10.00 more $49.99 plus tax, the only difference between this one and the other is this one has an assistance app on it so that you can talk to it... One more thing though you must be able to pick up Wi-Fi thats what makes the magic)

this little machine is amazing, i love the voice command remote control. can't beat this price either 49.00 with voice and 39.00 for normal remote. setting it up is supper easy and fast and i love the video instructions on how to use and setup if you're not a pro with electronics.

I bought my first Fire TV Stick earlier this year and loved it. Since then I have bought them for several friends and family members. I also put them in my kids rooms and installed the ZeusTV Box program on all of them and now use them to play classic Nintendo games too. Just turned off my cable last week and use my Firesticks for everything.

This is a perfect streaming and also comes with the best apps ever like netflix, NBA, and so much more

The Amazon Fire TV Stick w/ Voice is fantastic. The setup was extremely simple and very user-friendly as it had simple onscreen instructions that were animated. There are a ton of "apps" you can download to the Stick which allows you to choose which platforms you want to have (such as NBC, FOX, WWE, Hulu, etc.). I have this in my bedroom and an AppleTV (original) in my living room...Personally, I would choose this Amazon Fire TV Stick over the AppleTV. Even the picture seems a lot clearer (both have the same HDMI cable and are connected to comparable TV's). And the remotes ability to dictate your voice commands are fantastic and very accurate. Another cool thing is it takes up zero space on your TV Stand as it simply hooks up directly into the HDMI port and looks like a standard USB memory stick. I travel a lot for work and also bring the Fire Stick with me to hook up to my hotel room TV. It's great and well worth the $40 I paid for it (it was on sale when I got it; regular price is $49.99). I definitely recommend this.

Well I bought the Fire Stick with voice remote to add additional viewing pleasures on a second TV that was not a smart TV. We have a few services but could not use them on the extra TV. Price was great and the setup was even easier. Once setup, which was quicker than the other item I had bought, it was easy to navigate to what we wanted to watch. Being a Prime member allows me to have even more viewing through Amazon and also Netflix. Picture quality is better as it is 1080p and crystal clear as I was a little worried about that with the stick being no bigger than the first gen USB drives. Very little lag time in the load screen as well. If you are looking to add something for a spare bedroom or a game room I would recommend this as it sure beats paying for another cable box and it a whole lot smaller.

I'm an Amazon Prime member without cable and using my PC to watch TV. Most of the online sites are not HD but you can watch just about everything you want. I checked out the FireTV reviews on Amazon and so, why not? Positives: 1) a breeze to connect - it is truely plug-n-play 2) Works with Amazon Echo (Alexa) though I haven't tried that yet 3) iHeart radio is one of favorite non TV apps 4) downloading available apps is a piece of cake. And most apps are reviewed. 5) easy to get rid of useless apps 6) voice control - and it works as advertised! 7) It's Amazon so the software will always be upgraded without having to purchase another device. Apparently Amazon took this from the Apple playbook instead of Microsoft. 8) comes with HDMI adapter 9) Best Buy priced this device the same as Amazon. Why wait the extra 2 days for delivery? Also, if Amazon lowers their price, Best Buy will match it. 10) You can use your smart phone as a TV controller with the Fire app Negatives: 1) Nothing except Amazon Prime has too many free awful movies and not enough of the good ones. I get around this by disconnect the Fire device and connecting the HDMI cable to my laptop. Then go to the free movie sites - there are a lot and you just need to search for them. This is a device you'd expect from Apple. Amazon, with its Echo device and Fire TV, have a winner. The voice control makes it better than Roku though the Roku "channel changer" seems to be a hardier device. Comparison to Google Don't even think about getting the Google whatever it is. I had that for 3 hours and it was seriously frustrating to connect it to the internet. I had to take that one back to Best Buy.

At first I was not very impressed with the Fire Stick. It seemed sluggish and I had trouble waking it up. But once I figured out the problem was just the junky amazon batteries, I have been very happy! It wakes up quickly and begins playing content faster than our Roku. I like that you can start watching the next episode of a show from the home screen without selecting the app first. The voice search has worked flawlessly for me so far.

If you are a fan of Amazon and have Prime, you can't go wrong here. It just works. I LIKE things that JUST WORK. We use Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, HBO GO, ShowGO, etc., and occasionally other apps like YouTube or games on our Fire TV devices. We have the original Stick, and a full-blown Fire TV as well. Streaming shows and movies works great. We take a Stick with us on vacation trips. Our Fire tablets and iPhones can control the Fire TV devices via the Fire Remote apps. The Fire tablets can show you the X-Ray scene content while you watch a show/movie on these devices. One thing I didn't like about the new version of the Stick is that they didn't include an extension cable for HDMI hook-up, so if you can't physically plug it into an HDMI port on your TV (e.g., not enough clearance, wrong angle) then you have to use your own HDMI cable with the included adapter. I took one star off for that. The advantage of using your own cable is that you can position the FireTV Stick somewhere with potentially better WiFi signal than might be found hanging out of the back/side of the TV. Also, the price is higher, but it is probably worth it to be able to use the voice feature for searching. One caveat with the voice feature is that it doesn't work inside an app like Netflix (so you can't use voice to search inside Netflix itself) and it takes you out of whatever app you're using when you activate a voice search. Hopefully, Amazon will eventually provide a way for apps to take advantage of the voice feature too. Also, the Stick devices are not really intended for gaming (like the Fire TV is) so taking it along for light gaming for the kids may or may not work out.

We enjoy music and movies from Amazon and wanted a more direct way to play them on the TV. I started to get the basic unit--but for $10 more, I opted for the voice remote version. This puts Amazon's offerings in a menu format--far easier to access. With the voice remote I can ask for a weather report...or tell it to find music by a specific singer, composer, or group. I wanted this unit for a TV I use in a room where my desk and computer are. ( I liked it so well that I purchased a Fire TV for our home's main TV.) It sets up in minutes. There are many extra free and paid apps available for this unit. My only regret about this device is that I didn't purchase one sooner.

The Fire TV Stick is great for streaming services and is one of the best, if not the best, device for such uses. It's fast and responsive, durable, and easy to setup. An Amazon Prime account will make it even better. All services work well via WiFi with a strong connection. Options to unlock even more potential by installing Kodi and other streaming services are easy to do if you are looking for a cheap HTPC alternative. Much better than a chrome cast for not much more $$$, with more options available than a Chromecast with needing a device to stream from as well. Only drawback that I have found is it isn't as powerful as the Fire TV and since it is a stick, it only has WiFi and no ethernet port.

I had purchased two previously off of Amazon when they were first listed for pre-order. After 5 months of hard use, and great experience with the Fire Sticks, I decided to add a third, picking the new remote (voice controlled). The good: great digital picture, easy to install and set-up, excellent interface that aids in watching digital content, compact and out of sight design, simple and intuitive integrated wireless remote with excellent range (not limited infrared) - newer models have a voice controlled feature, reliable wireless connection with consistent connectivity. Use to view Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Starz and YouTube videos - reliable feeds and excellent HD quality video and audio. The bad: the voice activation isn't perfect and generally works well - limited application though. Also, the devices randomly have to be unplugged to reset after lengthy periods of inactivity, in order to reconnect the stick to wifi. Overall a great device, that works much better than other media streaming devices I have owned: Sony, Roku, WD, and vastly better than most "smart TV" integrated digital streaming. I definitely recommend!

This was very easy to set-up and has a wide variety of programs, including Netflix. The voice remote is nice and makes searching for specific movies or shows much easier!

I bought the Amazon Firestick w/voice remote, and gave it as a Christmas gift. The gift recipient loved it, and I installed it for them ... What a BREEZE !! Super simple install, and the voice remote works for Pandora, Netflix, etc. Turns ANY non-smart TV into a smart one, as long as you have an HDMI port, on your tv. It even comes with a USB / HDMI power cord and wall adapter, as well as batteries, for the remote ! EXCELLENT design, ease-of-install, and use of remote !!

When we kept dropping various levels of cable service because of the continuous price increases, we decided to try the Fire Stick TV. We have had it several weeks and are completely satisfied with it. We bought the voice activated remote version. It was simple to set up and has given us a great variety of programs to watch. We are members of Amazon Prime and seem to find plenty free movies/shows to watch. So far we have not added any for-pay apps. Though we had wondered if we had adequate wifi coverage where the television is located, we have only had a few short circumstances of waiting for the buffering. That is not a Fire Stick but evidence of our weak signal in that room. This was the right decision for us. We are NOT computer geeks and have no problem following the programming options. A great alternative to watching cable movies/videos-on-demand!

I love the Amazon Firestick with the voice remote and I highly recommend it to anyone. It is very user friendly and makes life so much easier. You can ask Alexa to check the weather, news, male a shopping list, etc. I can watch all my shows on the tv instead of logging in from my computer and there are amazing apps I can download.

I purchased the Amazon Fire Stick as well as an Apple TV streamer for the other bedroom. I wound up returning the Apple TV and getting an additional Amazon Fire Stick. I found it very easy to hook up, it works very well even in the bedroom which gets a much weaker wifi signal and I love the Amazon special movies and TV shows. It's half the price of the Apple TV and for my needs, this one is just perfect.
