Yes, this processor is compatible, but you may need to do a bios update. Personally I would recommend going to an independent computer shop and see if they can do a bios update if you don't know how to do that yourself because its unlikely that Geek Squad will just do a bios update and processor install for you.

The r5 2600 is a massive upgrade over the r1400. The 2600 would work in the motherboard, however you may need to upgrade the bios before swapping the processors. If I was you though, I’d go ahead and look at getting the r7 2700x because the price point is so much closer now since ryzen 3000 cpus have come out. However if the 2600 is more your budget then go for it!

Yes it would be an upgrade and yes it would work in a B350 motherboard. You would need to flash upgrade the bios before switching the processor. You can watch a video on that and switching CPUs if you don’t know how. But both are very easy.
