Build your own custom motherboard beginning with this AMD Ryzen 5 processor. Its six cores and 12 threads provide powerful processing capability for system-intensive tasks, and its base/boost speed sits at 3.4GHz and 3.9GHz, respectively, for efficient overclocking. This AMD Ryzen 5 processor has a Wraith Stealth cooler to keep components from overheating.
A: Yes, this processor is compatible, but you may need to do a bios update. Personally I would recommend going to an independent computer shop and see if they can do a bios update if you don't know how to do that yourself because its unlikely that Geek Squad will just do a bios update and processor install for you.
Q: Whats better this or the intel i5 9400f?
A: All depends on what you are using it for. The i5 9400 will slightly out perform the R5 2600 in single core and quads core performance, which means you would see slightly higher Fran rates in gaming and certain applications. The i5 is only 6 cores/6 threads. The r5 is 6 cores/12 threads. If you are doing something you need more threads, like rendering, then the r5 is gonna blow the i5 out of the water. All in all. I’d say go with the r5 because of price and the minimal difference in performance you get plus the hyper threading. I’d say if you put at least 3200mhz ram and overclock the r5 you would be able to close the performance gap between the two. However, like I said it’s a minimal performance gap.
Q: Is it faster than the fx series
A: Is not only faster but a better upgrade than the FX series
Q: Can this be used to upgrade a co.puter with an Intel I 7 proscessor
A: NO.This requires an AMD4 MB-COMPLETELY different!
A: Dip stick…leave computers alone. If you’d like an example why, go watch “Beverly Hillbillies” where Jethro shows how he’ll fool the bear. You’ll then understand, you don’t belong in the PC environment. Stated with humor and kindness!
