You’re 13 year old is definitely too young for it. A slight 2 foot drop off a coffee table and onto some plush carpet can even cause cosmos internal components to stop working. Unless your 13 year old takes extremely good care of his stuff, then I’d say no.

I think both of your grandchildren would enjoy this robot. This was on my 12 year old grandson's Christmas list, so I would say that the 13 year old would definitely enjoy it.
