I recommend the smallest pot needed for what you are cooking and the precision cooker to fit. I have used with a big pot to cook a turkey. Hope that helps.

I used a stock pot at first but it’s not the greatest since it doesn’t get the circulation that you’d get in a bigger container. I purchased both an Anova one and a generic smaller one from Amazon and they both work great. Food comes out perfect every time.

I use it with a 26 quart (6.5 gallon) insulated plastic container.  Per the manual, that is near it's maximum capability.

Yeah that works great. There are Rubbermaid bins made for this though and they work perfectly for longer cooks (18-36 hours)
