“Can I disable the VHF element and use a separate VHF antenna? I'm thinking of using the Channel Master Amplify+ that I can attach a separate VHF antenna to the amplifier. I am currently getting the High VHF channels with my old school antenna in my attic.”

A proper setup will allow you to use two different antennas but you will need other components. See internet or youtube for devices required for this kind of setup

However, we do have a ClearStream 4 if you are looking for a UHF only antenna. It is a very similar style to the 4MAX.
