Yes to question number 1. The box had an hdmi to hdmi cable I think not sure what is the input to your monitor.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes the monitor has built in speakers and it comes with a VGA cable that can hook up to the t430 series. But in order to get sound you will need a male to male 3.5 mm standard headphone jack cable to run from the laptop to the back of the monitor in order to use the speakers.
