I won't use this as a surge protector for A/V. As you mentioned, joules rating is low. This is designed for PC power backup.

You would just need to make sure that the power draw on the TV isn't over 255 watts. Anything above that would overload the UPS. If the TV does draw more than that you would need get a larger UPS like our BN650M1.
