I use multiple UPS units to keep the power going continuously on certain devices in my house. This unit was specifically purchased to power some smaller "not so wattage hogging" devices, and the price was right as well as the size and specifications. Purchased it, plugged everything in, and it all worked. I'd like to say the experience was amazing or something, but I know what I need and how it should work, and it worked (and continues to work) perfectly. While l also have larger units for more powerful equipment, this smaller unit fit in quite nicely for multiple battery chargers etc. Overall highly recommended and a great price.

This product has been really useful for me and my family, the surge protector functions pretty well. We had an electric peak this year, and none of my electric equipment connected to this were damaged.

For the price and what I need, you can't beat this item! I just want to prevent my computers from crashing if the electricity were to cut off all of a sudden, which seems to happen a few times a year (storms, car wrecks, etc.) I need to plug in my PC, LCD screen, bose speakers, and my gaming console. I bought two to serve the different areas in my upstairs living rooms.

    Great Compact UPS/Battery Backup

Compact enough to place on a shelf. But powerful enough to provide uninterrupted power to your most important low wattage devices. I have my modem, router, and network attached storage plugged into mine. And still have room for additional devices. Also means that in a power outage, I'll still have Internet.

Bought the battery backup due to power fluctuations due to hurricane María aftermath in the Island. So far it has been a superb purchase taking care of variation in voltage. Features have been helpful identifying current changes.

I've purchased many variations of this APC Back-UPS (450v, 650v, some with USB, some with no USB), and i am very pleased with this model. In fact, i purchased two of them! Pros: -Small form factor means it can be tucked away behind a computer monitor on top of a desk. I see this as a huge plus vs. the competitors which take a huge amount of space -Perfect for network devices (modem/router), and even for smaller desktops (I have mine connected to an iMac and a second external monitor) due to its generous number of back-up power plugs (some do a half/half distribution. this model actually gives you more back-up plugs than non-backup plugs) -Flat power plug, so the outlet can be against a flat object (like a bookshelf, etc.) - No annoying beeps like some other models Cons: -No removable battery, but like some have said, you can buy a new unit for almost the same cost as a new battery -This model does *not* have USB ports. I bought this particular model for my iMac, so it's not an issue for me. However, i have a similar APC model with USB ports which are used 24/7, so keep this in mind. That's about it for my cons... it's a very great, reliable model. Like i said, i purchased two of these and am using one with an iMac + external monitor, as well as a second on a laptop dock with two external monitors.

I have several UPS' First two were because the work I did on PCs was better to have the ability to log off gracefully in the event of a power failure. The third is on the directv satellite box. We have half second power fluctuation and those boxes don't tolerate it. They have to reset and it takes 10-15 minutes. If you are recording or watching something, it is painful. The UPS eliminates this problem. We did not have a UPS on the 2nd TV because my husband didn't feel it was necessary.. until those little power interruptions happened one too many times.. but MOSTLY to end my long story, because the Black Friday week price on this item was OUTRAGEOUSLY discounted compared to all the other prices.... and free ship to home!

This is a 30-day use review. I bought it for a specific purpose, and it has held up good, as expected. Bought this as a back up for my garage door opener, and my security cams on my detached garage. The cams use almost no juice, and I have never had to use the garage door during and outage. I have a 650VA APC in the garage and replaced it with this 450VA. Had 2 storm outages since I installed it. 1 was long, other was a few seconds 'bump' My security cams power attached to this never lost a beat. Like I said - does what I wanted - kept my security cams alive - and will work the garage door, if I need to. Just IMHO, and my use YMMV.

I just bought a rather high-end desktop computer, and missed the battery that laptops offered. They prevent damage and data corruption from under-voltage, sudden power loss, and even surges. This UPS was discounted by over 50% at time of purchase, and it runs well. I haven't tested it, but it should provide enough power to safely power down. Due to the lack of a data cable, I wouldn't feel comfortable using this for an extended duration on the battery. And while this isn't what the battery was made for, my computer stays on all day, thus a sudden power loss is still possible (though it may not cause damage). More expensive versions of this unit can tell the computer to shut down safely when reaching a certain threshold, via USB. For five stars, this unit should include a rudimentary solution to this, even if it makes the price somewhat higher. But overall, I am satisfied. If buying at full price, I would recommend getting the higher priced one with a USB cable, as it's not much more.

Got this in deep discount ~$25, while keeping the APC brand name and its quality. Got more than enough sockets and a few that has more space for the power adapter. It's a 450VA rating so pretty much I can put my NAS/modem/router stuffs in it; and it would stay about an hour (or less) during power outage. The only two downsides of this thing are there's no USB ports, meaning that it could not do a shutdown on your PC/NAS while the battery is out. Another thing is that the battery is not replaceable. But hey, what can you say about this for nearly the same price for a surge protector?

I bought this for my son's cable modem and WiFi router to protect against power hits and outages since he lives in the SE and gets lots of thunder storms. I attached this unit to the metal wall of a structured wiring cabinet and it fits very well. I didn't test the run time but if the advertisement is correct it will last for a couple hours with the minimal load of a router and modem. I just really liked the compact form and ease of mounting out of the way. I plan to buy one for myself soon.

I liked this small form factor UPS. While, it isn't as wide or long as more squarish UPS designs in the past, the tall, but skinny design can work well for many users' needs. I actually wanted it in the older design to fit it underneath a couch, but I digress. One reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the batteries are not user replaceable, at least not designed for such. There are ways to replace it, but you'd have to seek unofficial info to do so. By making it a "throw away" item when the batteries are no longer providing charge, users may throw these into the regular trash than take it to a battery recycling center. And I'm not even sure that a battery recycling center will take an entire UPS to handle the battery disposal.

I needed a replacement for my old UPS, and this APC - Back-UPS 450VA was on sale. I was worried about its capacity -- can a small 450VA carries my desktop computer, and its monitor, speakers, a router and a printer? But after I plugged everything in, no problem. I did a few tests by intentionally cutting the power -- everything kept running. This is good enough to provide time for me shutting down everything when the real power outage comes.

I am giving this 5 stars in hopes that when our power goes out it will work like it says. We actually hooked this battery backup to our satellite DVR receiver as living in the mountains we get lots of power surges and outages. Sometimes the power surge is only for like a minute, but in the past each time this happened, our DVR would take about 20 minutes to boot back up and was very annoying, so hopefully this will resolve this problem.

I wanted an inexpensive battery backup for my garage door opener. I had added a surge protector, but wanted to be able to open the garage door if power went out. I wasn't sure if this small battery backup would be enough to get the job done, but after a full charge and 6 rapid open/close cycles as a test, it did what I wanted. I don't know how long it would last under no power draw, but worth finding out.

What can I say. I use this to be a battery backup to my cable modem so we still have internet during a power outage. It has such a low load the UPS last for hours. I plugged it in an mounted it on a stub. Plugged it in and have now forgotten about it because it WORKS. I realize in two years the battery will die and once again I will trash the unit, but for now it is perfect.
