Thank you for your inquiry. Once you push the tabs, you would push the cover to slide it off. I will put the link below for the manual so you can get a visual on how the cover comes off. Ensure that the unit is on its side or upside down (the battery is a bit heavy and can make the release tricky sometimes), you may need to apply a little bit of pressure to release the cover, just be careful to not break any of the securing tabs. As long as you follow the directions you should be good to go.
