Customers are impressed with the Power Saving Back-UPS XS 1500's long battery life, strong performance, and ease of use. Many also appreciate its surge protection capabilities and the competitive price point. While some users noted the weight and occasional fan noise, the positive feedback on key features outweighs these minor drawbacks.

I bought an APC XS-1500 over a year ago to replace one of two much older APC UPS units whose battery had finally failed. Recently, the second older UPS battery died. The XS-1500 the I bought a year ago still shows 100% battery life after a year of almost constant use. Therefore I replaced my second failed UPS with another XS-1500. I briefly considered the new L-ION based APC BG-500, but the BG-500 did not have an external button to silence the alarm, so I bought the XS-1500 instead. One thing you should know - the XS-1500 is heavy, about 25 LBS, so watch your fingers while moving it.

my 6-year-old APC UPS died suddenly. i had to replace it immediately! the only store open at that hour that would be likely to have something was Best Buy. they had 2 manufacturers. the other company's units looked less sturdy w/ too much plastic & not enough vents. since i had good luck with my old unit, & since a member of the Geek Squad told me he only uses Schneider UPS units, i felt very comfortable replacing it with a similar unit. while i was in the store i read a few reviews. they were positive regarding this unit & brought up problems with the competitor. that also helped swing the pendulum. i like the idea that this unit has a larger capacity than my old one. i'm hoping that means it will last even longer. as soon as i got it home, i hooked up all the cords & plugged it in. it went right to work & has been totally fine ever since -- as i expected. my computer & peripherals are showing no signs of electrical issues. i'm happy!

We have used the APC XS1500 for many years because of their reliability, protection and the clean power they provide our servers. We only buy APC UPS's after realizing that other brands do not make the cut. The APC's last for several years and you can purchase replacement batteries when they finally do go bad.

I have various ups devices throughout my home being that i live in a rural area and i work via vpn from home. I have 2 of these particular ups devices in my office, which in the event of a power outage will protect and power my complete home network. Off of one device, im getting on average low draw @ 80 minutes or so of backup power. I love that i can mute the alarm on these - where i have found on other models i cannot.

Worth The Money

Ive had this Surge Protector/Battery Backup for about 6 months now and am very glad that I had made this purchase and spent the extra money for this specific one.
I connect many things to this device
-Desktop
-Monitor
-Laptop
-USB HUB
-Desk Lamp
-Printer
-PogoPlug
Having this device has brought about many positives for instance:
1.) Saves Power- turns off monitor, USB HUB, and printer when desktop is powered off or put on sleep.
2.) Protects my many devices from my unstable power throughout the house
3.) Keeps me going even when the power goes out due to storms, ect. Even with everything plugged in I can still be on the comp working for about another 30-60min depending on what I'm doing.
Other thinks I like about device:
- Sleek design
- Small menu screen on front of device which is nice added touch
- Much quieter then many other battery backups Ive used when the power goes out.
- Relative small size and fits beneath my desk
- Program that comes along with device to monitor/test device
Overall very satisfied. If your looking for something that Is going to protect you and keep you up and running after the lights go out look into this battery backup / surge protector. Worth the price tag.

Reliable Unit

Recently purchased two of these units to replace 2 older, outdated ones.
Easy to set up. Battery pack has a much smaller footprint than old unit, and is considerably lighter as well. Plus, instead of three separate batteries in older unit, this product has only one! This also has same ratings as old equipment had. Have had two occasions already when power has dropped out. They kicked in immediately, without any glitches. Panel readout has very useful time remaining display when in use. And, it is a quiet piece of equipment in standby. No humming or other obnoxious emissions, other than the beeps produced when it is active. Very good product for the money.

I wanted to replace a Standby type UPS with one that is Line Interactive, and this one is great. The display dims, so it's not a nuisance, but is there when I want to see status. The Master On is programmable, and works perfectly with my powered studio monitors. Plenty of outlets, plenty of battery power. I believe this represents a big bang-for-the-buck, and highly recommend it.

I have been buying APC products for years because of the consistent reliability of each unit. The batteries in these UPS units last a long time, longer than most competitors. This unit keeps my server up and running for approximately 20 minutes during a power outage.

Works as advertised, Clear and simple instructions. Was cheaper, smaller and weighs much less than my old APC Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) that it replaced; which lasted from about August 1996 to Dec 2015. APC makes the best UPS by far!

We actually used this with a Panasonic projector. Projector bulbs need constant cooling. Shutdown without a proper cool-down cycle can cause the bulb to implode. In the event of a brownout this unit supplies a constant 125v to the projector. In the event of.a blackout, I have enough time to manually turn the projector off and allow it to complete a cool off cycle (5 minuets).
I have used many these over the years and they always work well.

I needed a new UPS with power conditioning to protect all of my gadgets. I wanted to make sure my new AT&T gateway had a battery backup since the new replacement didn't come with one. This unit has 5 plugs with UPS and 5 with surge protection and two of the plugs has space for the larger transformer plugs. Works great and it was on sale to boot.

This is a great backup to protect your computer, monitor and wifi. The battery backup allows you to save your work in the event of power loss. Also, has a good rating for power surge protection. Have used APC for years and have never been disappointed.

These are definitely the best battery backups for the price. I have used some of the less expensive brands and they don't seem to last as long. Even better if you can get them on sale.

After a power outage corrupted the boot drive of my main computer, and dealing with hair-pulling repairs that would never have been needed if I had a UPS on it, I decided to once again install one. I'd had them before, and found it cheaper to replace the old unit than scrounge new batteries. When the last one died, I decided to go without. (BAD decision.) Having learned my lesson, I bought this one. It now backs up two desktop systems.
My favorite new improvement is the status screen, which shows the incoming voltage (it runs hot in my apartment) and the battery status, among other things. With this unit, I'll have warning when it eventually fails. (They all have a service life. The only question is how long it will be.) I also like the nice, sleek black case, a nice change from the old white ones I had originally. Looks like an overall good fit!

I bought this to provide back up a battery power to a PSU that provides power to a bitcoin miner control board. Since said miner is on the same fuse box as my central air, I had issues with two 1300 watt PSU's shutting down on occassion when the central air unit activated. The battery backup also has an ethernet port to allow me to control the voltage supplied to each PSU remotely. It also allowed me ample time to reset the breaker fuses without interupting the power to my miner. While my usage scenario may be rare, if not unique, it certainly holds the UPS unit accountable to it's standards. The unit has been running for a few months straight, with over a dozen instances of necessity and has performed successfully in each. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another, as it has excelled beyond it's intended load range in a fragile and volaitle environment.

Great UPS for the home or office PC. Instructions are easy to follow, plugs are marked well so you plug the right component into the right plug (Back-up or surge only).
I am seeing a standard I5 desktop and monitor last about 20 minutes on the unit.
