• Thank you for your inquiry. The BX1500G provides a stepped approximated sine wave while on battery power. If your equipment needs a pure sine wave at all times, we would recommend something in our Smart-UPS line. ( SMT model ). We also have some AV specific units which provide a pure sine wave while on battery power.

• I know this is an old question, but the best (in my opinion) pure sine wave UPS on the market is the cyberpower cp1500pfclcd model. I have 3 of them, but ended up with this one the question is about based on an immediate need and lack of other options. here is a link: https://www.cyberpowersystems.com/product/ups/cp1500pfclcd/ its usually $195 or so

• Almost all UPS are simulated AC. The only ones that are actual AC are those used for audio equipment because computer UPS's would introduce noise into the audio system. They are quite expense because they are AC.
