• I think this is a good buy for a 7 year old boy. My 3 year old great grand granddaughter has one and she does so many things with it.

• Cost is the question? I like the iPad mini it should be small enough so your 7 year old can handle it with ease. Buy a good durable case for it. On the lower end check the Amazon tablets. Just check to see if the games they play is available for it
