Powerful. Easy to use. Versatile. The new iPad has a beautiful 10.2-inch Retina display, powerful A13 Bionic chip, an Ultra Wide front camera with Center Stage, and works with Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard.¹ iPad lets you do more, more easily. All for an incredible value.
A: I just picked up a 9th gen iPad to replace my old 4th gen iPad. I was worried about transferring my apps and photos. Not being tech savvy, I was surprised at how easy it was. As long as both iPads have at least a 50% charge, all you need to do is place both iPads near each other. The set up program asks you whether you want to transfer your files and apps from your old unit to your new one. It pretty much does the rest. I think it took 10 - 12 minutes to do the transfer. Then all I has to do is remember to go into my old iPad settings and delete my info as I was scrapping it. This also took 2 or 3 clicks to get it erased. It ended up being easy for even for a non techie like me.
Q: Is this a touch screen? And why is it so cheap?
A: This iPad has a touch screen. The 32GB model (the base model) is so cheap because this is their "student model", and they want to sell it to lots of students. It is a very capable tablet. I had an iPad Air 2 (2017) before this, and the difference in speed and "peppiness" is noticeable. I have no regrets getting this tablet.
Q: I know this is the latest iPad, but what generation is it?
A: Generation 9 is the newest one (2021)
Q: Does this have built in key board
A: No built in physical keyboard, no. You would have to buy a compatible case with a keyboard in order to make it feel like a 2-in-1 laptop. Or you can connect a Bluetooth keyboard to it as well.
Q: Is Apple pen compatible with this IPad?
A: The first generation Apple Pencil will work with this iPad (9th generation). Not the second generation Apple Pencil.
Q: What size/type of iPad cover will fit this iPad?
A: This iPad (9th Generation) has the form than the previous one, so technically any case from the previous iPad (8th Generation). On the day of release, you will probably see cases with labels that say which iPad fits. If dimensions help you, here they are: - 9.8 inches of Height - 6.8 inches of Width - 0.29 inches of Thickness
A: Just Download Word from the App Store, but Pages comes preloaded which is the Mac equivalent. And yes, I have used an Apple Wireless keyboard with my IPad. Just put the keyboard into Find Mode and look under the IPads Bluetooth (Settings>Bluetooth)
Q: What does it mean when it says unlocked
A: The term "unlocked" refers that it is the iPad with Wi-Fi + Cellular model, as opposed to the other model which does not have Cellular. And this means that it does not have a Cellular Carrier (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.) but you can arrange a Cellular Plan with any of these Carriers later after purchase. Having this, the iPad will have access to that Carriers 4G LTE network.
