1) The numbers, pages, and keynote apps are standard on all Apple iOS devices and come installed, no need to download, although most of these apps will prompt for an update to the latest version almost immediately - free. 2) Can’t answer if the above programs can convert, however you should be aware that currently most Microsoft Office for iOS apps are completely free to download and use on your iPad. Enhanced Office 365 features cost more, but use on your iPad is free. If you can’t convert, you could at least work directly in the MS app.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. To my knowledge those are similar to the Microsoft Office products of Excel, Word, etc. You may be able to get an App from the App store that performs some of the basic functions similar to the Office programs, but they won't have all of features you might be used to with the actual MS Office suite. I doubt they'll communicate well with MS Office products other than basic text that can be copied and pasted. Unfortunately Microsoft controls their programming enough to limit other developers who would make a compatible SW product. All of this is solely based on my experiences with MS Office and other software. But I believe it to be correct. If you want MS Office functionality you'll just have to pay for it. Something to consider though, many people in education and federal government (not sure about state or local government) can get one copy of MS Office through their school or agency for about $20, so if you are in college or work for a government agency you might be able to get one copy of the real thing for a great price.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I really don't use the ipad for business as you might. I have "Pages" and it works fine. I don't remember paying for it however. I can tell you that is a great unit. This is now my 3rd Ipad. I try to upgrade about every 2 years. 2 years ago when the Pro came out I was torn about buying it because of the size. Then they came out with the 9.7 inch screen which was essentially a Pro that was the same size at my Air 4. Seemed like a bit of a waste of money. But then along came the 10.5 inch screen and it's a a great compromise right in between. Obviously bigger than the old one but not too big. Regardless of you program questions, you won't regret your purchase Gilly. Sorry I couldn't help more with you question.
