The iPad will do it on its own, depending on the app. Popular apps are more common to update on their own than lesser-known apps. 4. iPadOS updates usually get bigger and bigger, taking up more native space on your device, but the device will offload any unused apps after a while, clearing up space.

I always go to settings and immediately check for updates for all apple products, but you get notifications for when apps need updated and the tablet itself and you can always add extra storage for iCloud which is perfect if you use it for notes, school projects, or just keeping photos
