Windows applications are not directly compatible with Mac OS. However using a virtual machine software package like Parallels or others, you can load windows and run windows applications right along with Mac applications. Alternately you can boot windows using Bootcamp supplied by Apple. It’s less convenient though. In either case, you must install a genuine licensed Windows operating system. The machine memory should be upgraded to 16 Gb (it’s maximum according to another answer on this q&a). We used to run Quicken for windows using Parallels until the more recent quicken for Mac came out. If a Mac version is available, it might be more convenient and less costly.
