The Homepod has no physical inputs so a DVD player wont connect to it.

It will only use AirPlay to communicate to anything other than Apple Music, you can use the AppleTV to stream audio from movies, TV shows and other media.

You can connect it with Apple TV 4k. It cant be connected wih any other devices ( just apple devices)

No devices can connect directly to a HomePod. This is, of course, a weakness of the device if connectivity is important to you. The speaker sounds fantastic, and I feel like it is very much worth the money, but you want to be content with using Apple Music as your main sound source. I already use Apple Music (it’s good — not worlds better than other services, but quite good) so for me the HomePod is well worth the money.
