• it does not pair with bluetooth it uses airplay and yes it will work but only with airplay

• The information in iTunes Help states that you can use Homepod to play music from the Apple Music catalog. After you set up your Homepod, it plays audio directly from Apple Music OR AUDIO SENT FROM AN IPHONE, IPAD, IPOD TOUCH, OR APPLE TV. The Homepod uses Wifi to connect to your home network, I believe that it used NFC when you tap your phone to transfer calls or music from your phone. So, I am sorry apart from what I can tell you would need to have an Apple TV to use the Homeshare function in Itunes to use the library on your laptop.

• It’s plays from iTunes via Airplay. (That means, over wifi, not Bluetooth). Any Airplay 2 compatible device can stream to the HomePod mini.
