It will most likely need a home base. HomeKit does not have much support yet.

Please try again later.If it says works with Apple Home kit on the box (as shown in the pic) then it should because the HomePod (like the Apple TV) will work as a hub for HomeKit devices to talk to when you are not home, some products do need a base (ex Philips Hue lights) but as far as I can see the Fibaro flood sensor does not need one. The HomePod, Apple TV, or if u have an iPad at home will act as the hub so it should work when your not home and allow you to control (HomeKit devices) from whenever your outside of your home as long as you have one of those 3 Apple Products mentioned above
