• I have them in stereo mode. The sound is great. So yes, it sends the sounds as needed. The stereo separation is very good.

• probably, but it's not stereo. HomePod analyses the sound and decides where to bounce it, so you can get kinda a stereo effect, but it's not true stereo. For that, you'll have to buy two and pair them when the AirPlay 2 update releases later this year.

• Nope, just the left channel. But you can't really tell from a distance. But Apple seems to be developing stereo for 2 of these tied together....
