Not sure I'll be big help as I am newer with the home pod. The first thing I notice is you said, "Hey Alexa". I am assuming you meant "Hey Siri". Have found that Apple Music only has their music, podcasts, etc. Other sites need to be added using airplay. I access satellite radio that way as well as the podcasts I listen to.

Try saying ‘hey siri’. Alexa is for the echo.

I had one and it worked fine till I got a new phone and now its doing the same thing if I could get my money back I would sorry I have no answer but I wanted to add to your question and just let you know your not the only one with this problem.

This isn’t compatible with Alexa as far as I know. You can ask Siri to play your music with this speaker.
