“I have a Canon t2i and want to use this adapter to put photos onto my (old) ipad 3. Will this work? I'd get a new ipad, but read that the ipad pro is being revamped, so I want to wait for that.”

I don’t believe it will work. This cable has a lightning connector and an iPad 3 has a 30 pin.

It should work unlesss your device has the Apple 30-pin Charging Port (wide charger for older models) otherwise you would need an adaptor.

Elizabeth, this will be perfect now and into future for SD to iPAD transfer. Uses the lightning connector.
