Contrary to a lot of the other answers listed here, I can confirm that it DOES allow movement to and from the SD card via the Files application on iOS. I just bought it in person today and managed to get it work after exploring a while, though discouraged by the many saying otherwise.

Not sure this works in reverse. We use it to go from the camera to the phone so that you can upload to Instagram, etc. I have not seen a command that would make this go in reverse.

As the title of the product indicates, it is a card READER. It is not a card writer. Therefore, you can only use it to get images onto your phone from the card, it does not download images to a card from the phone.
