“I have a Apple lightning to SD card camera reader. Connecting it to iPad only some of my SD cards import pictures, others don’t, and the SD cards are identical. All the cards have pictures on them and I’ve verified this by opening them on my PC.”

Check to see if the card has write protection on or off. If it's on, the drive is locked from moving items. That might be why you can see them on the computer, but they are not available to move with cable.

There will be some files that are on the sd card which you can clearly see on your computer but they will not show up on the transfer. Its some type of an apple problem. Not perfect!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Try to reboot your iPad without the "lightning" wait for few minutes until your iPad is up and running. Then plug back in the lightning without the Sd. After the lightning is in, insert your Sd card, and it should read all the data/pictures on your Sd card. Hope this will help. Good luck.
