You should sign up on best buy website for student promotions and then you will receive an email with all the current ongoing offers/promo codes related to it. You should provide that promo code online/in-store to avail the student discount.

If you sign up for the student discounts at Best Buy, then you'll get emails with the student discounts and the promo codes. You'll apply those codes at checkout.
