It's risk vs reward. Typically, if you have a lemon, you'll know soon and will be under warranty. Enjoy the Mac, they're well built and designed machines
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have not had any problems & did not have a need for the protection plan.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I always do because it's better safe than sorry.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Im the type of person that always buys the protection plans and I never use them, money thrown in the trash is what I say now when I purchase electronics and the sales person ask me if I want to buy the protection plan. I have boughten four apple devices in the past 1 1/2 years and didn't buy the protection plan for any of them. If your careful with your stuff, and don't have butterfingers, then you shouldn't get it, if your past experiences with protection plans is the same, you never use them. If you have kids, or younger siblings, that will break your stuff, then get it, my brother has kids, and his kid already broke his iPad twice, he bought the protection plan for it. I have no kids, and no younger siblings, so I do not need it. But like I sad its all up to the individual itself, and how they handle there electronics.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would recommend it, if you can afford it. My husband's mother bought the insurance and ended up paying $800 in total for a PC laptop she purchased with Best Buy. The laptop ended up malfunctioning or something and they couldn't fix it, so she got a new computer that was worth $1600. Yep. Double. Best Buy takes care of their customers, and Macs are freaking expensive. So if you can do it, do it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would always recommend a warranty. You just never know. I got the one year just in case. I believe it was $159.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.personally I would not buy the protection plan because Mac's are great and generally don't break down. The money you spend on the plan can be saved if you every need to have something fixed. In the 5 years I've owned my i-Mac - I have never had a single problem and we use it every single day! While you do have a Mac Book Pro, they basically have the same insides, so unless you haul it around a lot and think you might drop it, I wouldn't spend the money!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I got the protection plan because it covers pretty much everything that AppleCare Covers, and you can extend Geek Squad for additional years after the initial 2-3 year term.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I got the 3 year plan and I don't regret it. I've had the cd/dvd player eat a disc last month and it codt me nothing to have it repaired. It "studdered" a few times as well and I had it repaired and cost me nothing again. I will be extending my coverage when the renewal comes up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have had it where and this is not against geek squad in the least but after bringing 2 different laptops to them for the same issue 3 or more times they replaced them because it was hardware issues. They would keep sending them away having them fixed and the part fail all over again. The last one was with my Macbook. If it wasn't for the protection plan I wouldn't have been able to replace my computer for free.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
