It's aluminum and plastic combined Weights about 2 pounds.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it's aluminum and it's nifty. Doesn't use batteries. I bought mine months ago and it's still alive and well. Great keyboard. I will also say that since I'm a numbers guy as well as a photo guy AND Steve Jobs HATED numeric keypads on keyboards, I used a Logitech solar-charged keyboard for six years and it was plastic. Unless one uses a hammer to type, I believe that Apple's aluminum is great because it's a good keyboard, but plastic is also pretty tough stuff.
