It connects wirelessly via Bluetooth, and works seamlessly on my M1 MacBook Pro. It charges via a Lightning cable, like an iPhone, and rarely requires charging after a first full charge. You could use an iPhone charger, or a USB-C/Thunderbolt to Lightning cable from your iMac occasionally.
