That’s completely up to you, it will add more to what you pay. Wha I would suggest is that you can get a screen protector and a drop resistant case to prevent any damages to the phone. I would choose to not pay AppleCare as I’m not a person who frequently uses their phone, but you may choose so if you prefer.
