The iPhone 7 stands two generations ahead of iPhone 6. Of course, coming from a 6+ to an iPhone 7 means you’re going to be reducing your screen size however, the included hardware would more than make up for it. And unlock the iPhone would work for the carrier that you mentioned in your question but at this point buying an iPhone 7 unless you are strapped for cash would not be the best way to go. Your best bet would be to invest in the latest generation iPhone SE3 which is based off the iPhone 7 form factor. You’re getting 5G capability the latest and greatest chipset and a battery that is not going to be overly worn.
