No it won't. Here is a paste from Apple.com: "The Smart Keyboard — available for both the 10.5‑inch and 12.9‑inch iPad Pro".

Technically, yes, the smart connector will connect to the 9.7 inch ipad pro, however, the 10.5 ipad pro is slightly longer and wider so this keyboard case will not be an exact fit for the 9.7.

No, this unit only fits the 10.5 inch model.

There is no iPad Pro 9.7. The newest ipad 9.7 is just called iPad. But the newest iPad 9.7 works with the Apple keyboard and Apple Pencil.

There is no iPad Pro 9.7. The newest ipad 9.7 is just called iPad. But the newest iPad 9.7 works with the Apple keyboard and Apple Pencil.
