You can answer the calls through the watch if the phone is not near. It tracks my activities alerting me when to get up and walk . Even helps with breathing exercises. It’s like having a phone on your wrist.

Apple Watch Cellulars will be able to stay connected even when it’s not tethered to an iPhone. So your phone can be far away from it but will still be able to use all of its features.

Well, in my opinion the gps is better than the cellular. When you get the cellular you will have to add 10 dollars to your phone bill if your carrier provides service. In conclusion, there isn’t a lot different from the two but i would recommend gps.
