Yes, it tracks both... if you want this information to remain on your home screen after your running workout, you will have to download a third party app. You can easily check on both throughout the day by going to your “activity” app on your watch or phone and scrool down.

It is also Water Resistant up to 50 meters(164ft) for recording swim workouts. Apple Watch Series 4 is arguably the best smartwatch on the market. Although you need an iPhone, it’s the best Fitness device I’ve used.
