A:AnswerYou can adjust the zone which activates the camera to exclude your neighbors house area. I adjusted mine to only record when people approach our door. Very simple to do.
A:AnswerThe Arlo Video Doorbell comes with a 3-month free trial of Arlo Smart, which enables users to store their videos in the cloud for up to 30 days. After the 3-month trial, user can continue storing their videos in the cloud with a paid subscription. Customers will always have the ability to receive instant alerts, live-stream video from their doorbell, receive a direct-to-mobile video call from a doorbell press, and play quick reply messages, even without a paid subscription plan.
A:AnswerThis doorbell camera doesn't count against your five cameras that you already have installed. It doesn't even connect to your base station. It will show up as a separate device in your Arlo app. You get a free 3 month trial. After the 3 month trial, you will only have the ability to receive instant alerts, live-stream video from your doorbell, receive a direct-to-mobile video call from a doorbell press, and play quick reply messages, unless you continue with a paid subscription plan. https://kb.arlo.com/88
A:AnswerIt is a goal of Arlo’s to make as many cameras compatible with Alexa but we don’t have an announcement to make regarding Video Doorbell voice assistant compatibility at this time. ^KN
A:AnswerSuper easy in most cases. The hardest part for me, was figuring out how to pull the old doorbell off the wall. A bit of internet research resolved that. A simple, pop off cover removed by prying it off.
Now, the doorbell/camera unit is quite large compared to a 1/2" push button doorbell so, you should ensure you have sufficient room for mounting the camera or you might have to mount it elsewhere and relocate your doorbell wiring. Which could be more difficult, depending on your situation.
I also changed out my doorbell transformer at the same time because it was only 10V. That was an easy task as well.
I spent less than an hour installing camera, transformer and setting up the internet connection. In fact I could have done it in half that time if I had used the right password to access my wifi in the first place. ;-(
A:AnswerIt doesn’t connect to your Arlo base. It connects directly to your main WiFi, and you can add it into your already existing App. Just follow the prompts after selecting add device. You will see an option for the video doorbell, chime doorbell, etc. Pretty easy to set up. I will warn you though, I was not able to get my existing chime to work right with it. For me it wasn’t a huge deal because I have dogs that hate our doorbell ringing and the Video doorbell calls your phone anyways. But just know you may have to call tech support if you run into the same issue.
