I have 4 cameras installed and two of these and I didn't have to upgrade to a more expensive Arlo plan.

You do not need to up grade. I have the basic 5 camera. subscription. I have four cameras and added the two lights without a problem. They show up differently than the cameras i. The application.

The Arlo Lights do not impact subscriptions. They are not counted the same as cameras for subscription considerations

The lights do not count as cameras, so you can add as many lights as you need without worry of having to subscribe. You can have 5 cameras on the free plan, but videos do not archive.

The cameras are on the base station. All of the lights are on the seperate bridge. 99% sure all you would have to buy is the bridge.
