“With moderate battery usage, is the "time between charges" several months, or is this the actual time after which one would need to actually replace the battery because it could no longer hold a charge? Not clear in previous questions asked.”

I have the wireless, so the batteries are chargeable at anytime. The camera will notify you by email when it’s getting low. Even then, they last a few days at less then 5%. It depends on how much activity your camera is taping, is part of the recharging process. I charge about 1 camera per week or every other week. You definitely want to set these up where you can reach them with some effort but not too difficult. I’ve had these just short of a year, and the batteries are still like new/very good. Charging is no problem.
